Privacy Policy

Last updated 31 August 2026

This policy explains what Qaaf AI collects when you use qaafai.com, why, and what happens to it. It is written to describe what the service actually does rather than to cover every eventuality.

Qaaf AI provides AI translation, transcription, transliteration and OCR, largely for Islamic books, lectures and manuscripts. Contact us at contact@qaafai.com with any question about this policy.

What we collect

If you create an account

  • Your email address.
  • Your password, stored only as a one-way hash. We cannot read it.
  • Optionally your phone number and country, if you enter them.
  • Your credit balance and the date you registered.

If you sign in with Google

  • Your email address, your name, and the account identifier Google gives us.
  • No password is created or stored for these accounts.
  • We request only your basic profile and email. We cannot see your Gmail, Drive, Calendar or contacts, and we never ask for access to them.

If you use a tool without an account

  • A random identifier stored in a cookie in your browser.
  • A salted, one-way hash of your IP address. We do not store the address itself and cannot recover it from the hash. It exists only to stop the same person claiming the free trial repeatedly.

Content you submit

  • Text you paste into a tool, and files you upload for translation, transcription or OCR.
  • The results produced from them.

How your content is processed

Text and files you submit are sent to Google Cloud's Vertex AI to be processed, and files are stored in Google Cloud Storage while a job runs. Processing takes place on Google Cloud infrastructure, which may be outside your country.

Google does not use content submitted through Vertex AI to train its models. We do not use your content to train any model either, and we do not read your documents except where you specifically ask us to look at something for support.

Why we collect it

  • To provide the service you asked for and return your results.
  • To keep your account, files and credit balance available to you.
  • To prevent abuse of the free trial and of open tools.
  • To answer you when you contact us.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies, and none of them are for advertising.

  • Sign-in cookie — keeps you logged in. It is httpOnly, so scripts on the page cannot read it.
  • Free trial cookie — recognises a returning visitor who has not made an account.
  • Sign-in security cookie — short-lived, used during Google sign-in to confirm the request came from your browser.
  • Google Analytics — measures which pages are visited. This is the one cookie set by a third party.

Who else sees your data

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for advertising. It reaches only:

  • Google Cloud — processes your content and stores files while a job runs.
  • Render — hosts the website and its database.
  • Google Analytics — receives page-visit data, not your documents or results.

We would also disclose data if required by law, and we would tell you unless prevented from doing so.

How long we keep it

  • Account details are kept while your account exists.
  • Files and results stay in your library until you delete them or ask us to.
  • Free-trial records are kept so the trial cannot be claimed repeatedly.

Ask us to delete your account and we will remove it and its files.

Your rights

Write to contact@qaafai.com and you can ask us to:

  • Tell you what we hold about you.
  • Correct anything that is wrong.
  • Delete your account and your files.
  • Send you a copy of your data.
  • Disconnect your Google account, which you can also revoke from your Google account permissions.

Security

Traffic is encrypted in transit. Passwords are stored only as hashes. IP addresses for the free trial are stored only as salted hashes. Access to production data is limited to the people who run the service. No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise.

Children

Qaaf AI is meant for adults and for institutions. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be announced on the site.
